Update on the coronavirus

Oostappen Group Holiday Parks keeps a close eye on the latest developments regarding the coronavirus and the guidelines of the Dutch and Belgian government. The safety and health of our guests and employees are of paramount importance!

As Oostappen Group Holiday Parks we have sufficient opportunities at all our holiday parks to follow up on government measures and give each other sufficient space. Read below what impact the measures have on the Dutch and Belgian holiday parks.

All Dutch Holiday Parks are currently open for recreational stays. Of course we do this in compliance with the applicable measures and with extra attention for our guests, our staff, hygiene and everything else necessary to offer a safe and responsible holiday. The communal sanitary facilities at the parks reopened on 15 June. This means that you can come camping again if you are not self-sufficient.

The following facilities are currently open at the Dutch parks (of course according to RIVM guidelines). Oostappen Holiday Parks are large, in short they are also spacious enough to comply with the distance rules and still be able to enjoy the holiday.

  • Subtropical/covered swimming pool at Vakantieparken De Berckt, Prinsenmeer and Arnhem are open.
  • Indoor play palace on holiday park Prinsenmeer is open.
  • Beach pool on holiday park Prinsenmeer is open.
  • Catering is open.

All Belgian parks are open again. See below for each holiday park the measures in force.

Camping Blauwe Meer

  • Is open to all guests (camping, rental + year guests).
  • Reception, sanitary building and catering* are open.
  • Indoor pool and covered beach will open from 1 July.

Camping Hengelhoef

  • Is open to all guests (camping and rental).
  • Reception, sanitary building and catering* are open.
  • Indoor playground and subtropical swimming pool open from 1 July.

Camping Parelstrand

  • Is open to all year guests and from 18 September to 8 November tourist camping guests are also welcome.
  • The park does not offer rental or camping pitches this year.

*The catering facilities at Camping Blauwe Meer and Hengelhoef will open with the following measures:

  • Maximum 10 persons per table.
  • Tables are 1.5 metres apart.
  • Everyone must remain seated and operated.
  • All waiters are required to wear a mouth mask.
  • The hospitality industry remains open until 01:00 a.m. at the latest.

Furthermore, from Saturday, July 25th, at the Belgian holiday parks, it is mandatory to wear a mouth mask during travel in our catering establishments. This does not apply when sitting at the table. On the terrace, in the open air, this does not apply aswell. We are also obliged to make a note of your e-mail address or telephone number when you visit our catering establishments. This only serves to inform simpler guests if necessary. The data will be kept for a maximum of 14 days and this will of course be done with great discretion. Wearing mouth masks is not mandatory for children under 12 years of age.

When the measures from the Belgian and/or Dutch government are extended/tightened, we may have to postpone the opening dates. We will keep you informed about this. Of course we will do this via this page, but if necessary we will also inform our holiday guests, seasonal guests and annual guests directly.

With regard to reservations already made with an arrival date prior to the above-mentioned date, we apply the following principles (guests will be contacted by us):

  • Moving the reservation to another period in 2020 is possible on the basis of availability and at the current rates.
  • Guests will receive a voucher for the amount already paid. If the new reservation is more expensive, the additional cost for the guests. When the reservation is cheaper, the guest will receive the difference back in the form of a voucher.
  • Provided that COVID-19 has been detected by one of the future guests (within 2 weeks prior to arrival), no modification fee will be charged.
  • If guests do wish to cancel, they will pay a cancellation fee in accordance with the booking conditions.
  • If the guest has booked with a certain preference, we will of course take this into account.
  • If guests have booked through tour operators, we will only refer guests back to the tour operators if they wish to cancel.
  • If you want to rebook your made reservation you can contact the Reservations Department (see contact details below).

We hope of course, just like everyone else, that the virus will be under control soon so that we can pick up the normal course of events, so that everyone can start enjoying outings, restaurants and a well-deserved holiday again!

If you have any questions about this information, you can always contact us using the contact information below. (Due to the hustle and bustle it may take a bit longer before someone from the Oostappen team can speak to you. We will do our very best!)
